Donald Trump slams ‘no-talent’ Stephen Colbert in latest tirade against the media

TwitterFacebook

We’re betting Stephen Colbert will have some thoughts on Donald Trump’s latest media tirade.

In an interview with Time, the president lashed out at The Late Show host, calling him “no-talent” and “filthy” following Colbert’s controversial May 1 monologue, in which the Colbert Report alum made an oral sex joke about the POTUS and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Read Trump’s comments on Colbert below:

Colbert has certainly seen his ratings rise in the wake of Trump’s election, and the host has been a frequent and outspoken critic of the president’s policies and actions — the most recent example being the firing of FBI director James Comey. Read more…

iTunes is coming to the Windows Store

TwitterFacebook

iTunes, Apple’s nearly two-decade-old music and video store, is coming to the Windows Store.

Microsoft announced the surprise addition, coming later this year, at its annual Build developers conference in Seattle on Thursday. There are almost 700,000 apps in the Windows Store, but this would be Apple’s first addition.

The news comes 14 years after “hell froze over” and Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that iTunes was finally coming to Windows. At the time, it was a critical move for Apple. iTunes was the dominant force for legal music downloads, but it was nowhere on the Windows PCs, which basically were the computing market at the time. That all changed with a splashy event featuring a live performance by singer Sarah McLachlan and live video drop-ins from Mick Jagger and U2’s Bono. Read more…

Jennifer Aniston says modern-day ‘Friends’ would just be the gang on their phones

TwitterFacebook

20 years ago, Friends was dominating NBC’s airwaves with the story of six pseudo-adults in New York City trying to find their way through life and love.

Though it continues to endure with a loyal fanbase, the world of Friends is undeniably analog; Its adorably archaic technology could and does fill lists. In an interview for Thrive Global Podcast With iHeartRadio, Jennifer Aniston told Ariana Huffington that if Friends happened today, everyone at Central Perk would just be staring at their phones.

“Now you have a computer, a television, and a phone. There’s no room,” Aniston said. “We were jokingly saying that if Friends was created today, you would have a coffee shop full of people that were just staring into iPhones. There would be no actual episodes or conversations.” Read more…

YouTuber turns a $700 iPhone 7 into the most expensive fidget spinner ever

TwitterFacebook

We should have known that this would happen. Riding on the fidget spinner craze, it was only a matter of time before someone combined the toy everyone is obsessed with and the phone everyone is obsessed with, the iPhone 7.

That’s right, YouTuber EverythingApplePro drilled a hole in an iPhone 7 (and a couple of other iPhones, ughhh) and then inserted a ball bearing to create the most expensive fidget spinner yet. It’s ridiculous and a complete waste of iPhones, but hey, sometimes you just need to fidget with something.

While we don’t recommend destroying transforming your own iPhone(s) into a fidget spinner, if you must, please be smart and take out the battery before doing so. Drilling through a lithium-ion battery is dangerous and will cause it to explode. Read more…

Trump claims he made up the phrase ‘prime the pump’ and he absolutely did not

TwitterFacebook

In yet another outlandish transcript of a Donald Trump interview, the president made yet another outlandish claim.

Trump spoke to The Economist in an interview released Thursday, and the transcript of the Q&A covered the new president’s economic strategy, his known stance on immigration, and an extremely weird aside wherein he takes credit for a centuries-old phrase.

When discussing his tax plan, Trump uses the phrase, ‘prime the pump’ then proceeds to ask the interviewer whether they had heard the phrase before. Even though the interview says yes they had heard this known phrase, Trump continues to take credit for coining it.  Read more…

Join Samantha Bee’s book club to analyze Ivanka’s absurd new book

TwitterFacebook

To celebrate the recent release of Ivanka Trump’s Women Who Work, Samantha Bee and the Full Frontal team started a book club (“Ladies Who Book”) as part of the show’s ongoing sardonic series “The Great Feminists in Feminism Herstory Hall of Lady Fame.”

The book is “a strawberry milkshake of inspirational quotes” — a semi-plagiarized amalgam with some 208 sources (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is quoted 30 times) and not without problematic reminders of Ivanka’s privilege.

Bee isn’t the first late-night host to zero in on Ivanka, who was the subject of a lengthy Last Week Tonight segment in which John Oliver dissected how progressive she and Jared Kushner really are (they’re not). Bee even includes a clip from The View in which Whoopi Goldberg describes a “particularly regrettable passage” where Ivanka uses a Toni Morrison quote and asks if her reader is a “slave to time.” Read more…
