These guys combined Connect Four and golf in one pretty darn clever game

TwitterFacebook

OK, seems like you can combine the classic board game Connect Four with most ball sports.

It certainly goes pretty well with golf, as evidenced in a custom game put together by Australian YouTubers How Ridiculous.

While you might be good at putt-putt, it’s a little trickier trying to hit the ball up a hill — you might prefer the group’s other board game-related creation, Connect Four basketball. Read more…

Former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick keeps his cool during self-driving car courtroom drama

TwitterFacebook

Known for his fiery, overly aggressive approach to business, ousted Uber CEO Travis Kalanick seemed laid back and calm, if maybe a bit nervous while sipping on a water bottle, when he testified in a San Francisco court on Tuesday.

Kalanick appeared in U.S. District Judge William Alsup’s courtroom as part of the ongoing legal battle between two of the largest autonomous vehicle developers: Waymo and Uber.

After Kalanick resigned in June, he’s been elusive, releasing only a few statements. But Tuesday afternoon in the U.S. District Court he spoke — or at least responded to questioning — for nearly an hour. He was by no means effusive, but while wearing a suit and tie, he promptly answered all questions and didn’t come across as defensive or evasive.  Read more…

Soap-cutting videos might be your new favorite way to relax

TwitterFacebook

Your relationship with bar soap is probably a simple one: it sits in your shower and you use it to clean yourself.

Per Shortlist, Instagram users have found another use for this basic household item and it’s incredibly mesmerizing. It’s a new trend known as “soap cutting,” and, uh, it’s pretty self explanatory: just take a bar of soap and cut it up.

This trend isn’t as weird as you might think. In fact, it just the latest in a long-running internet trend of… cutting stuff up. This includes candle-carving, make-up-destroying, and bath-bomb-slicing.

Twitter’s best jokes about Game of Thrones and Star Wars joining forces

TwitterFacebook

The internet may have broken on Tuesday with news that Game of Thrones show runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are going to write and produce Star Wars films (that’s the third Star Wars series in development, if you’re counting).

Twitter was quick to make jokes combining the two epic franchises, and to criticize this particular employment decision from Disney and Lucasfilm.

The one big question I had during SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket launch: Who is Space Bae?

TwitterFacebook

Elon Musk’s SpaceX did the unimaginable on Tuesday — it successfully completed its first test launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket, the company’s most powerful rocket ever. And while many questions remain about what the launch means for SpaceX, there is one question we can’t stop obsessing over:

During the Falcon Heavy launch telecast, SpaceX invited a host of engineers to take us behind the scenes at Cape Canaveral, with each engineer providing more info about the company’s groundbreaking test flight. One of those hosts was a fine (pronounced “fione”) human who I have dubbed Space Bae, because that’s what he is. A bae. Who is teaching us about space. While looking like an absolute snack.  Read more…

Pornhub’s Super Bowl insights: Eagles fans held off longer than Patriots fans

TwitterFacebook

Just like watching for iconic commercials and hating on the Patriots, Pornhub’s annual data analysis has become something of a Super Bowl tradition. The adult site has been posting its stats from the big game since 2014 and the analysis includes most searched terms and changes in traffic during the big game.

Watch Trump awkwardly attempt to hold Melania’s hand

TwitterFacebook

Well, that was weird.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump shared an awkward moment on Monday before boarding Marine One.

A clip, captured by NBC News, shows Melania wearing a long yellow jacket over her shoulders, with arms and hands inside the coat, not inside the sleeves. As the two round the corner, Trump can be seen attempting to grab Melania’s right hand, and failing. Reporters fire off questions and Trump suddenly stops, catching Melania off guard.
