Signs you’re suffering from Trump Fatigue Syndrome

TwitterFacebook

It’s just over three months into Donald Trump’s term as president, and as much as you promised everyone on Facebook that you’d “NEVER GIVE UP!” it’s time to be honest: you’re totally gonna give up.

Of course, you’re not *actually* going to fold just yet  — you know that if you don’t scream at your dumb Congressperson or send money to that rando candidate in Pieceofshittown, Western Civilization will crumble to the ground. But a creeping, low level sense of despair has already entered your bones. Your brain is a hazy fog of “Wait, what?,” “I don’t care,” and “How are we not dead yet?”

You’re suffering from Trump Fatigue Syndrome. Read more…

You will never be as cool as this 6-year-old with a fidget spinner haircut

TwitterFacebook

When I was a little kid I loved yo-yos and wanted a rat tail, and though my rat tail phase has since passed, I still regret never getting one.

Unfortunately for ’90s kids, rat tails and yo-yos have since lost their charm on the youths of today, but a thingamajig called a fidget spinner has captured their hearts, and now their haircuts.

Has ABC found the next ‘Lost’ in its new crop of dramas?

TwitterFacebook

High concept dramas, musical moments and steamy procedurals feature heavily on ABC’s 2017-2018 schedule, which boasts two new shows from Shonda Rhimes (including a Grey’s Anatomy spinoff), a live musical version of The Little Mermaid, a revival of retro comedy hit Roseanne, and a reboot of American Idol with Katy Perry as judge.

Check out the new trailers and descriptions for ABC’s new series below.

The Good Doctor – Mondays at 10 p.m.

Not to be confused with The Good Wife, ABC’s new medical drama sounds like it’s taking a page out of House‘s playbook (which makes sense, since it’s created by House boss David Shore and Hawaii Five-O star Daniel Dae Kim).  Read more…

The NBA’s most fearsome player says he’s a new dad in heart-melting Instagram

TwitterFacebook

Hyper-intense NBA star Russell Westbrook can be borderline scary on the basketball court. His kamikaze playing style might even get chosen MVP this year — we’ll find out soon.

But a photo Westbrook shared Tuesday on social media already wins the award for Most Adorable Photo.

Yep — he’s a new dad. Meet baby Noah. Or at least baby Noah’s feet.

Porn streamed on a train station video display and commuters definitely noticed

TwitterFacebook

Union Station is a transit hub in the nation’s capital, but on Monday night, it was briefly a porn hub.

SEE ALSO: A traffic-stopping porn video took over a billboard for 5 minutes

The Washington Post spoke to a woman who posted a video of what appeared to be a PornHub video playing explicit content for a few minutes around 5:30 p.m. on a digital ad monitor. The woman has since removed the video and didn’t want to give her name, worried it’d be forever associated with pornography.

But she said she was “pretty speechless” when the video switched to the porn.

“I mean, it was really explicit porn being shown on this huge screen and no one could turn it off,” she told the Washington Post. Read more…

Axe believes its new ad will make you rethink macho stereotypes

TwitterFacebook

Is it OK to be a virgin? Is it OK to experiment with other guys? Is it OK to be the little spoon in bed?

These are just some of the questions that men ask themselves — and Google — when no one is looking, according to a new ad from Axe that aims to help “break the cycle of toxic masculinity.”

Don’t spit out your coffee just yet. Yes, this is the same Axe that once relished running ads portraying adult women as slaves to their senses and casting men as lonely losers — until, that is, they doused themselves in Axe body spray, at which point the ladies came running.  Read more…

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ gets a firefighters spinoff because nothing ends anymore

TwitterFacebook

NBC may have cornered the market on Dick Wolf procedurals set in Chicago, but ABC has apparently staked out Seattle for Shonda Rhimes’ growing empire.

The network has ordered a new, untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff set in a Seattle firehouse, probably because the only thing sexier than a doctor is a firefighter. (It probably won’t be called Grey’s Firehouse, but we wouldn’t mind if it was.)

“From the captain to the newest recruit,” ABC’s logline says, “we follow these brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock.”

These wireless buds put a computer in your ears

TwitterFacebook

Next up for your ears: mini-computers.

Truly wireless earbuds are all the rage in the audio scene these days, as Apple’s AirPods have been more widely embraced than anyone expected. Cutting the cord has been a welcome improvement for many AirPod fans — but the buds don’t offer much more than an untethered audio experience, leaving the door open for other innovations.

Bragi, a Kickstarter darling that hit the scene in 2014 with its Dash smartbuds, is looking to do just that with the next generation of its wireless audio tech. The company is shooting high and hyping the new buds, the Dash Pro and the Dash Pro tailored by Starkey, as “powerful ear computers.” Read more…

The future of Nike design looks amazing in this concept video

TwitterFacebook

With all the amazing real tech entering our lives, concept videos are becoming passé— that is, unless the concept video uses existing innovations that simply haven’t been combined yet.

That’s the gist of a new video originally conceived by Nike and posted by Dell a few days ago showing off how designers might use augmented reality headsets like the Meta 2 to create next generation sports apparel.
