Spelling bee champ stumped by the word ‘covfefe’

It’s that time of year again where Scripps holds its National Spelling Bee, and adults around the world can revel at how smart the young contestants are while simultaneously feeling bad about themselves.

This year’s winner is Ananya Vinay, a sixth grader from Fresno, California. Vinay appeared on CNN’s New Day on Friday after winning the contest, and during her appearance, the anchors asked her to spell the word of the week: Donald Trump’s made up covfefe.
