Elon Musk accuses Tesla employee of ‘extensive and damaging sabotage’

TwitterFacebook

Elon Musk has discovered a saboteur.

At least, that’s what he told Tesla employees in an email sent Sunday night, according to CNBC.

“I was dismayed to learn this weekend about a Tesla employee who had conducted quite extensive and damaging sabotage to our operations,” wrote Musk, who’s under an immense amount of pressure to ramp up production of the Tesla Model 3 sedan.

That creepy Olive Garden commercial script is just as weird on screen

TwitterFacebook

Last week, a hilariously creepy script made the rounds online.

Writer and comedian Keaton Patti tweeted that he forced a bot to watch over 1,000 hours of Olive Garden commercials, and then asked it to write its own version. The script he posted had some funny gems like describing pasta nachos as “warm and defeated” and a character revealing her mouthful of “secret soup.”

A group of coworkers who normally create drivers ed videos put together their version of the Olive Garden commercial, and it’s just as unsettling as the original script. Krista Doyle, one of the coworkers, tweeted that all they could talk about was the Olive Garden bot, so they “decided to just shoot the damn thing.” Read more…

You’ll want to ignore this heart-shattering audio of kids separated from their parents. Don’t.

TwitterFacebook

ProPublica has obtained and released an absolutely heartbreaking audio recording of several children who’ve been separated from their parents at the border.

The nearly eight-minute long video comes after reports that almost 2,000 immigrant children have been taken from their families and placed in detention centers over a six-week period. The family separations are a result of the Trump administration’s new “zero-tolerance” policy, which requires authorities to detain any immigrants who cross the border and take their children into custody.

In the audio obtained, which was reportedly recorded inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection detention facility last week, scared young children can be heard sobbing and shrieking, begging to be reunited with their loved ones. Meanwhile, border patrol agents are heard cracking jokes about the noise, saying, “Well, we have an orchestra here. What we’re missing is a conductor.” Read more…

Facebook tightens its policies on gun-related advertising

TwitterFacebook

Facebook is tightening up its rules on advertising gun accessories to minors.

The social media giant announced it would restrict the advertising of weapon accessories, such as optics, belt accessories and holsters, to those over the age of 18. It is not outright banning the advertising of these kinds of items.

South Korea came up with a very creative tactic to use against Sweden in the World Cup

TwitterFacebook

Whenever you bring together dozens of different countries from around the globe, there’s gonna be some cross-cultural confusion.

And if you’re South Korean coach Shin Tae-yong, you figure out how to work that to your advantage.

In a press conference Sunday, Shin explained the unusual tactic he’d employed against spies from the Swedish team: He’d had his team members swap jersey numbers for the warmup games, in hopes that scouts would confuse the players for one another.

“It’s very difficult for Westeners to distinguish between Asians, and that’s why we did that,” Shin explained, as quoted by ESPN. Read more…
