Up your tailgating game: Coleman portable grills on sale at Walmart

TwitterFacebook

This is America. You better believe we won’t let the elements (rain, snow, wind) stop us from getting our grill on during the pre-game tailgate. It could be 20 degrees outside and 8 a.m. but on game day, those burgers are sure gonna be ready to go in time for kickoff.

The only problem is that most “proper” grills aren’t what one would call portable, and who wants to waste time with those cheap little charcoal buckets? Not me, that’s who.

19 wild headlines from 2018 that sadly aren’t from The Onion

TwitterFacebook

Has 2018 felt unreasonably long to anyone else?

Between the mess of our presidential administration and the bizarre internet drama we’ve all sat through, it has been a year. Can you believe snacking on Tide Pods was a thing in January? How has the year managed to drag on for so long?

Here are the wildest headlines from 2018 that, unfortunately, aren’t articles from The Onion.

1Trump bragged that his “nuclear button” was bigger than Kim Jong-un’s

Let’s start early. During his annual address to the nation, Kim Jong-un announced that North Korea could easily strike the United States with nuclear missiles. In response, Trump went full dick measuring contest and tweeted, “I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his.”  Read more…

PlayStation Classic reviews are in: Here’s what the critics think

TwitterFacebook

Did Sony strike gold with the PlayStation Classic? Or is it just a big hunk of pyrite wrapped in a vintage-styled plastic shell?

Reviews are in for the latest micro-console sensation, and the first from Sony. Just like Nintendo’s NES and SNES Classic, PlayStation Classic is a pint-sized replica of the original PlayStation (or PS One, as it is now known). It’s pre-loaded with 20 games, a list that includes a mix of bona fide favorites and surprising deep cuts.

But is it any good? The $100 item is certainly adorable in the same way as Nintendo’s competing products. It’s also more expensive than either of those. And while the mix of games covers a wide gamut, some have criticized a few notable absences and others have pointed out that games from the PS One era aren’t really worthy of “classic” status just yet. Google to face worldwide protests on November 27 over censored search engine

TwitterFacebook

Google might just have to get used to protests.

Weeks after Google employees around the globe walked out of offices in protest of the company’s handling of claims of sexual misconduct, the Mountain View-based search giant is about to face yet another worldwide protest. This time, however, Amnesty International is coming for it. The planned demonstrations aim to highlight Google’s efforts, codenamed Dragonfly, to build a censored Chinese search engine.

It’s all set to go down on Nov. 27, reports The Intercept, and Amnesty International is not playing around. The NGO launched a petition calling on Google to cease its Dragonfly project, and a scathing satirical Google recruiting video. Read more…

TwitterFacebook

Donald Trump has dismissed a damning climate change study produced by his own government, simply telling reporters, “I don’t believe it.”

The U.S. president rejected the findings of the report, which was produced by over 300 prominent climate scientists and 13 federal agencies and departments.

Facebook’s election ‘war room’ is now empty

TwitterFacebook

Facebook’s vaunted election “war room” is currently empty, but the social network says that doesn’t mean it’s done fighting election interference.

Bloomberg reported Monday that the so-called war room, the dedicated space at Facebook’s headquarters that served as the company’s ground zero for fighting election interference, had been “disbanded.”

Facebook’s war room consisted of a conference room staffed 24 hours a day and served as a command center for the company’s various teams fighting misinformation on the platform ahead of election in the United States and Brazil. Facebook’s Brazil office also had its own small war room. The room was put together after Facebook was criticized for not doing enough to respond to Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Read more…

This trailer for Adult Swim’s ‘The Shivering Truth’ is the freakiest thing you’ll see today

TwitterFacebook

And you thought stop-motion animation was creepy on a good day.

From Robot Chicken to Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adult Swim programming has become notorious for its cartoon insta-nightmares. Their newest series, The Shivering Truth, appears to be shepherding that legacy into a whole new league of horrifying.

Created by Vernon Chatman, an Adult Swim alumnus, the stop-motion project has been described as “a delicately crafted, surreal anthology comedy, a miniature propulsive omnibus clusterbomb of painfully riotous daymares, all dripping with the orange goo of dream logic.”

What does that mean? Well, based on the trailer, we can expect a woman to have her face rubbed off onto a carpet, a drinking game involving a whole lot of fingers, a scary worm burrowing into a guy’s head, a surprisingly gory game of peek-a-boo, and a whole lot of other stuff I’d rather not think about… including hand nipples.
