In honor of the release of Crazy Rich Asians, we’re celebrating onscreen love and romance, looking at everything from our favorite fictional couples to how Hollywood’s love stories are evolving. Think of it as our love letter to, well, love.

Entertainment fans love love, but this Romance Week we wanted to take a moment to appreciate the TV couples that didn’t make it. Where would any of our romantic journeys be without a little (okay, a lot) of failure?
