Suspect shuts down detective’s interview with parade of violent farts

TwitterFacebook

Who needs lawyers when you can have severe intestinal distress?

24 year old Sean Sykes Jr. temporarily paused a police investigation in Kansas City this week with a little bit of gastrointestinal creativity. When asked for his address, Sykes Jr. allegedly let one rip, forcing the interview to end abruptly.

The detective reported that the suspect “leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart before answering.”

It didn’t stop there. As the interview progressed, the suspect allegedly continued to cut the cheese multiple times. The detective ended the interview prematurely. Read more…

Here’s Millie Bobby Brown meeting one of her adoring fans

Hawkins, meet The Six.

Millie Bobby Brown and Drake, two celebrities whose work has made me very emotional, met on Friday night when Brown stopped by a Drake concert in Brisbane, Australia. The two are clearly fans of each other and were thrilled to hang out IRL, which — surprise! — also made me emotional.

‘Stranger Things’ nail art is here and weird and we love it

TwitterFacebook

2017 has been a great year for cinematic nail art.

We may be approaching peak craze with the latest Instagram trend, however: Stranger Things-inspired nail art. Ever since the second season was released, folks have been designing Eleven-themed nails and other Demogorgon-inspired patterns.

No matter what you think about think about the second season, you’ve got to admit — this looks good.

Rebel Wilson details own experience with sexual misconduct in Twitter thread

TwitterFacebook

In a lengthy Twitter thread on Saturday, Rebel Wilson detailed her own experiences with sexual misconduct in Hollywood.

Wilson recalled two separate incidents in her tweets. The first involves a male star in a “position of power,” who Wilson said asked her to enter a room with him, then repeatedly requested that she “stick [her] finger up his ass” while his friends filmed on their phones. Wilson also said that after her agent filed a complaint, she was threatened by the male star’s representatives.

Detective Trump says he believes Putin about Russian meddling, and we have one, tiny criticism

TwitterFacebook

Good news, guys! Everyone at the FBI, DOJ, NSA, DHS, and CIA was wrong — there’s no way Russia interfered with our elections, according to a very definitive source, Detective Donald Trump.

On Friday, Trump reported that he had asked Putin about Russian interference in the 2016 election and that Putin had denied all allegations. That was enough for hard-nosed Detective Trump to conclude his year-long investigation into Russian interference.

We’re cool now!

Here’s the president’s exhaustive analysis.

“He said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. I just asked him again. He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did,” Trump said in a session with reporters aboard Air Force One. Read more…

Watch a weather observer struggle to stand in 105-mph winds

TwitterFacebook

New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Observatory is home to some truly treacherous weather. In 1934, the summit even played host to the fastest wind gust ever recorded on the surface of the Earth: 231 miles per hour.

Now, 105 mph isn’t quite that fast. But, as you’ll see from the video above, it’s no picnic to walk in.

On Friday, weather observer Tony Padham ventured outside in those gusts — as well as the summit’s coldest wind chill of the year thus far (-40 degrees Fahrenheit) — for what he called “a bit of fun.”

Is struggling to stand in frigid mountain gusts my definition of fun? No. Is this video still extremely fun to watch? Yes. Please enjoy. Read more…

People are SO jazzed about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming to ‘Injustice 2’

TwitterFacebook

The next add-on pack for Injustice 2 adds all four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the DC Comics fighting game. Fans seem pretty happy about that.

The reveal trailer, which also confirms The Atom and Enchantress for the upcoming “Fighter Pack #3,” doesn’t get into specifics. The four turtles appear to be treated as a single fighter, though how that works in practice remains to be seen.

The Atom will be out in early access — included with the pre-purchased pack or “Ultimate Edition” versions of Injustice 2 — on Dec. 12, with the other fighters to be released not long after. The new fighters will be available on all platforms, including the PC version of Injustice 2, out on Nov. 14. Read more…

Here’s why a Twitter account for Maine tourism gets so many notifications

TwitterFacebook

Your relatable tweets are proving to be a real headache for the state of Maine.

As The Daily Dot pointed out Saturday, one of the many ways people announce that they’ve found a tweet relatable is by at-replying the Twitter handle “@me.” It’s tongue-in-cheek — a shorter way to say “that’s me” or “it me.”

The handle is also frequently used when someone says “don’t @ me,” but fails to put a space between “@” and “me.” That space makes a world of difference, y’all. Isn’t Twitter interesting?

Using “@me” has an unintended side effect. The handle @me is actually owned by Maine.com, a website run by a man named Teddy Worcester to advertise Maine tourism.  Read more…

There’s a baby being sold in a window for … $80,000?

TwitterFacebook

Pro-tip: If you see a baby being sold in a window for over $80,000, it may not be real.

A recent and unusual Park Avenue window display featuring an absurdly lifelike baby sculpture has captured the attention of New Yorkers walking by. Scores of people, convinced that the baby is real and concerned for its welfare, have become so anxious that they’ve gone as far as alerting the store’s manager.

See, New Yorkers can be nice.

Please stop applauding Louis C.K. for doing the bare minimum

TwitterFacebook

Well, it looks like the Louis C.K. apologists have at least pivoted to a different tactic than simply labeling accusers liars, after the comedian finally admitted to the sexual misconduct he’s been disparaging as mere “rumor” for five years (and as recently as two months ago).

Within mere hours of C.K. issuing his statement, the internet fell over itself to commend him for the brave act of finally admitting he is, in fact, a sexual harasser and feels bad about it — now that there’s a New York Times story about it, anyway.

And as C.K. fans (and even some of his critics) pat him on the back for doing the literal least he could by not lying anymore, some conservatives continue to make excuses for Roy Moore, the former Alabama judge and U.S. Senate candidate accused of initiating a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32.
