You might not hear the words “Emily Dickinson” and think “rebellious teen,” but that’s why we have television.

In the full trailer for Apple TV+’s upcoming Dickinson, Hailee Steinfeld portrays the famous poet as a young woman straining against society’s rules. Also, Wiz Khalifa makes a cameo as Death.

Steinfeld channels her Edge of Seventeen performance in this trailer and the show’s first teaser, bringing us into the inner world of a poet who was known for being something of a recluse (other girls in the community are not kind to her in this trailer).

Dickinson also stars Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt, and Adrian Blake Enscoe (with a glimpse of Friday Night Lights and Parenthood‘s Matt Lauria). The new trailer also features an original song: Steinfeld’s own “Afterlife.” Read more…
