There are plenty of air fryers on sale for Black Friday, but one that we’re really excited about is the Instant Vortex four-in-one air fryer. Typically $99, Walmart is planning to drop the price down to a paltry $49 at 10pm EST on Nov. 27 — that’s a full $50 of savings on one of this season’s must-have gifts.

Simone Giertz of ‘Truckla’ fame has correct reaction to Tesla’s Cybertruck

Simone Giertz of 'Truckla' fame has correct reaction to Tesla's Cybertruck

“Truckla” was actually the “first” Tesla truck … for anyone keeping track.

Earlier this year, YouTuber and maker Simone Giertz hacked a Model 3 into an all-electric truck. So, it was only fair that Giertz attend Tesla’s Cybertruck unveiling in Los Angeles and see what CEO Elon Musk decided to do with the debut of its official truck. Lucky for us, she recorded the whole shebang.

Around the 5-minute mark in Giertz’s latest video update, she arrives at the Cybertruck event while driving in her Truckla — the name she gave to her homemade Tesla truck. Once she makes her way inside, you get to relive the moment Musk brought his cyberpunk, Blade Runner-inspired vehicle onto the stage for the first time. We also get to see Giertz’s in-the-moment reaction. It’s priceless. And representative of so many of us: confused and bewildered by what Tesla created. Read more…

How to do a data detox when you’re super lazy

How to do a data detox when you're super lazy

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again? Only the wind is the internet, and the plastic bag is a flurry of confetti exposing every detail of your personal life? If so, it may be time for a data detox.

Though we unbox our tech with optimism shining in our hearts as bright as our brand new phones, inescapable digital ephemera is quick to accumulate. No matter how careful you are, a clean, secure digital life is nearly impossible to maintain.

Practically every website, service and appliance now comes bundled with an app or account, all of which demand you hand over your name, birth date, credit card details and social security number. Tech companies mercilessly track our interests, location, age, gender, ethnicity, and anything else that can be used to categorise and advertise to people. No matter who you are or where you’re from, big tech is watching. Read more…

Twitter to free up inactive handles, and this will definitely get ugly

Twitter to free up inactive handles, and this will definitely get ugly

Twitter is about to get even messier.

The notoriously scam-ridden company intends to ramp up its efforts to remove inactive accounts from the platform, setting up a situation where inactive handles can be claimed by new users. This, despite your totally original idea to finally register that account you’ve always dreamed of having, could turn out to be a very bad thing.

But first, let’s talk basic details. News of Twitter’s plan, reported by the Verge, was confirmed to Mashable by company spokesperson Lindsay McCallum.

“As part of our commitment to serve the public conversation,” wrote McCallum over email, “we’re working to clean up inactive accounts to present more accurate, credible information people can trust across Twitter.”  Read more…
