Amazon's 2019 Black Friday sale is here, and these are the best deals

After a literal month of hype and dozens of teaser deals, Amazon’s Black Friday sale has officially started — and if I may quote Michael Scott, “Oh my GOD, okay, it’s happening. EVERYBODY STAY CALM.”

It’s go time, people. And if you want to avoid one of those dreaded “out of stock” banners, you’d better hurry; the site’s sales tend to move pretty quickly.

No pressure, you know.

The last time we checked, there were no less than 1,000 active deals up on Amazon’s official Black Friday landing page, and they covered everything from electronics to kids’ toys. If you don’t feel like scrolling through all of them (fair!), fret not: Below, you’ll find a quick rundown of the best bargains that are up for grabs right now.  Read more…

This depressing ad for Facebook's Portal TV somehow stars Kim Kardashian West and Jennifer Lopez

Because nothing says genuine human connection like two celebrities discussing “top secret” party ideas in a Facebook ad.

It’s just a few days before Black Friday, the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season, and for Facebook that means sponsored content to push its latest hardware product on our nation’s grandparents. Specifically, that would be the poorly selling Portal TV — a videoconferencing device seemingly purpose-built to be shoved in a drawer and forgotten about.

And what do you know? Facebook somehow convinced Kim Kardashian West and Jennifer Lopez to star in the damn thing — wearing brightly colored facial masks, no less. Read more…

Simone Giertz of ‘Truckla’ fame has correct reaction to Tesla’s Cybertruck

Simone Giertz of 'Truckla' fame has correct reaction to Tesla's Cybertruck

“Truckla” was actually the “first” Tesla truck … for anyone keeping track.

Earlier this year, YouTuber and maker Simone Giertz hacked a Model 3 into an all-electric truck. So, it was only fair that Giertz attend Tesla’s Cybertruck unveiling in Los Angeles and see what CEO Elon Musk decided to do with the debut of its official truck. Lucky for us, she recorded the whole shebang.

Around the 5-minute mark in Giertz’s latest video update, she arrives at the Cybertruck event while driving in her Truckla — the name she gave to her homemade Tesla truck. Once she makes her way inside, you get to relive the moment Musk brought his cyberpunk, Blade Runner-inspired vehicle onto the stage for the first time. We also get to see Giertz’s in-the-moment reaction. It’s priceless. And representative of so many of us: confused and bewildered by what Tesla created. Read more…
