Saturn’s flickering auroras would challenge even the most vivid northern and southern lights on Earth.

Newly released photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2017, during and after Saturn’s summer solstice, show off the ringed planet’s northern lights shining in space.

The images, taken in ultraviolet light, are “the most comprehensive picture so far of Saturn’s northern aurora,” the European Space Agency (ESA) said in a statement.

TwitterFacebook

You likely know K’naan Warsame for his FIFA World Cup anthem “Waving Flag” and his role on The Hamilton Mixtape track, “Immigrants (We Get The Job Done.)” Now, he’s asking American citizens to vote on his behalf in the upcoming elections.

Though the Canadian-Somali singer and poet lives and works in New York, he’s a Canadian citizen and his family still resides in Toronto, which means he’s facing challenges as a result of the Trump administration’s travel ban.

TwitterFacebook

Only a few hours after Apple sent out this year’s iPhone event invitations, purportedly leaked images of the new devices have surfaced online.

This afternoon, Apple news site 9to5Mac posted a photo of what is allegedly one of the new flagship iPhone models laying on top of one another.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech company just sent out invites for a September 12 event with the tagline “Gather Around.” The invite didn’t offer much information about what to expect, but an outline of Apple Park appeared in what was a gold-copper color — which could be perceived as a hint about the upcoming gold iPhone color option. People are threatening to boycott In-N-Out after large donation to Republican party

TwitterFacebook

Despite its California roots, In-N-Out is far from liberal.

On Wednesday, journalist Gabe Schneider uncovered a contribution of $25,000 that the famous California-based fast food chain made to the California Republican Party just this week — and it’s safe to say that some folks were not happy to learn about the political leanings of their family owned go-to burger joint.

Twitter tests suggestions on people to unfollow for when your timeline is too much

TwitterFacebook

You’re likely familiar with Twitter’s suggestions on who to follow. Now, the company is asking some users if they want to unfollow people.

As first pointed out by Slate, the social media platform is testing unfollow suggestions.

“We know that people want a relevant Twitter timeline. One way to do this is by unfollowing people they don’t engage with regularly. We ran an incredibly limited test to surface accounts that people were not engaging with to check if they’d like to unfollow them,” a Twitter spokesperson told the publication.

Security camera catches speeding Tesla going airborne after hitting railroad tracks

TwitterFacebook

Teslas are well known for their acceleration, but flying?

A Canadian man caught some serious air after speeding over a railroad crossing in Barrie, Canada, on Tuesday at around 8 p.m. local time. A security camera happened to catch the incident, and holy crap.

The 46-year-old driver “became airborne and crashed over 100 feet into the opposing lane,” according to Barrie Today. The Tesla skidded after landing, and eventually hit a tree in a parking lot. Considering Teslas are, you know, not supposed to fly, it’s not surprising that the four-door vehicle, which appears to be a sedan, was totaled. The exact model was not released.  Read more…

Trump claims his loss of Twitter followers proves anti-conservative bias

TwitterFacebook

Just a day after taking to Twitter to complain that Google search results are biased against him, President Donald Trump is once again going after the search engine, as well as Twitter and Facebook.

This time, he’s citing his very personal experience of having lost followers on social media as evidence of a broad scale anti-conservative bias.

While talking to reporters at the White House today, President Trump was asked a question concerning his tweets from Monday. He’d accused Google of offering “RIGGED” search engine results to anyone looking up the phrase “Trump News.” The president complained that Google was deliberately censoring “Republican/Conservative media” and showing search results that were critical of him from what he called the “Fake News Media.”  Read more…

To protect our virgin eyes, this female tennis player was penalized for removing her shirt

TwitterFacebook

The U.S. Open has a lot of thoughts about tennis — and women’s boobs.

On Wednesday, French tennis player Alizé Cornet walked onto the court of the U.S. Open and realized that her shirt was on backwards. Instead of running to the women’s locker room, Cornet took off her shirt in public and then put it on the right way.

Umpire Christian Rask then charged her with a code violation, prompting necessary amounts of outrage.
