Watch this dad hold a full conversation with his adorable babbling baby

TwitterFacebook

This is One Good Thing, a weekly column where we tell you about one of the few nice things that happened this week.

Toddlers and babies speak a language all their own. I mean, that was the premise of Boss Baby, right? Rugrats? It’s practically its own genre at this point.

But in real life, it’s harder to get inside the mind of these little bundles of joy. Their brains are developing, and they when they do respond to the world around them, it’s not always clear what they’re saying. Frazzled parents often have to rely on context clues to decipher whether or not their baby is uncomfortable in a particular onesie, or if they just don’t like when you tune in to The Bachelor.  Read more…

Prince Louis stole the show at Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebration

TwitterFacebook

London celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s 93rd birthday with Trooping the Colour, her annual birthday parade, on Saturday. Prince Louis, however, was the real star of the show.

This was the prince’s first public appearance at the parade, which makes sense because he was one month old when the last one happened. By the looks of the photos, he spent the day experiencing the full range of human emotion, from extremely grumpy to absolutely thrilled. (Again, he is one year old, so this checks out.)

It seems like he had the most fun waving at the crowd.

Happy Birthday to Her Majesty The Queen!

Please enjoy a wide selection of riffs on Keanu Reeves’s name

TwitterFacebook

Twitter is a bad place to do a lot of things, like “have a nice conversation” and “not get harassed.” But it remains a good place to make corny jokes, especially if they are about Keanu Reeves.

In the past few days, people have started tweeting out all kinds of riffs on Keanu’s name, which is easy to do because “Reeves” rhymes (and almost rhymes) with a lot of words. It’s the latest meme to arise from his well-deserved resurgence in internet culture, and it probably won’t be the last. The “Keanu walking to music” meme is really hard to beat, though.

Anyway, here are a bunch of Keanu Reeves jokes. Enjoy them! Read more…

Zoosk review: Easy to use and a great design, but can get a bit spammy

TwitterFacebook

Dating sites are a great way to meet people if you’re shy about hitting on a stranger IRL. But what if you’re not exactly confident about messaging a stranger on dating site, either?

Sure, you’re behind a screen on all of them, but not all dating sites are introvert-friendly (cough AdultFriendFinder cough).

Maybe your problem isn’t the messaging itself — maybe it’s the fact that the only people to message are the same five profiles recycled over and over again, because your current dating site doesn’t do long distance.

Enter Zoosk, an online dating site and mobile app that promises ease of use and practicality in the singles world. By world, we mean it — with 40 million users in over 80 countries, Zoosk makes international dating more achievable without making it all about hooking up in another country. Read more…

Best senior dating sites: Dating over 50 can actually be fun

TwitterFacebook

Senior dating: Hard, but not as much as you think.

Because let’s face it: Dating at any age is kind of a pain in the ass — and being over 60 in the dating world could actually have its perks. There’s a reason why post-retirement age could be the happiest time of your life. Golden years, hello?

Yes, there may be fewer potential partners in the dating pool, but if you think about it, that just makes everything less overwhelming. And now that online dating is hot and heavy for the 60+ crowd, it’s easier than ever to track down that special someone.

Gwyneth Paltrow forgot she was in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

TwitterFacebook

Netflix’s The Chef Show has inadvertently provided the internet with a timeless Gwyneth Paltrow moment.

Paltrow appeared as a guest in the first episode of the cooking show hosted by Chef Roy Choi and her Iron Man director/co-actor Jon Favreau. As Decider’s Meghan O’Keefe pointed out, Paltrow casually reveals while making a spicy pepper pot stew (!) that she’s apparently blocked out her Spider-Man: Homecoming scene from memory.

Granted, she appears only in a small scene toward the end, and Marvel doesn’t always loop in their own actors about what they’re filming. But this is especially funny because Paltrow was billed above Marisa Tomei and Zendaya, who play the pivotal roles of Aunt May and MJ in the film and will reprise them for Spider-Man: Far From Home.  Read more…

‘Claws’ is the juiciest summer drama you aren’t watching

TwitterFacebook

Claws is one of three excellent shows returning in the next week, in which the leading women are on a quest to empower themselves. Unlike HBO’s award-winning Big Little Lies or FX’s acclaimed Pose, however, this one will air relatively inconspicuously.

It’s a shame, because TNT’s boisterous crime drama retains the kooky vibe it’s hoisted itself on for the past two years.

Everything about Claws is unapologetically loud, from the storylines to the costumes to the dialogue to, obviously, the on-brand nails. It doesn’t hold back from its unconventional premise: Five manicurists run a salon in the trashy city of Palmetto, Florida, that’s actually a front to launder money for the local drug lord. Trump gets mocked after tweeting that the Moon is part of Mars

TwitterFacebook

Trump doesn’t think we should send anyone to the moon — instead, the president wants to send people to Mars. But our fearless leader seems to be confused about how planets work, and the internet is already tired.

Despite his previous support for lunar missions, the president is over the moon.

On Friday morning, Trump tweeted that instead of sending astronauts to the moon — because “we did that 50 years ago” — NASA needs to focus its efforts on sending people to Mars. That’s a reasonable request; in fact, NASA itself has been laying out plans to further explore the red planet aerially with a helicopter in 2020.  Read more…
