SpaceX could do something amazing on Saturday. 

The Elon Musk-founded private spaceflight company is planning to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying a refurbished, uncrewed Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station, and then land the first stage of the rocket back on solid ground.

If successful, this will mark the first time SpaceX has reused one of its capsules. The re-flight will also propel the company into an exclusive club. 

“NASA’s space shuttle orbiters, the U.S. Air Force’s X-37B, and the Soviet Union’s VA spacecraft were all reused on orbital missions,” Robert Pearlman, space historian and founder of collectspace.com, said.  Read more…
