Tom Cruise’s ‘The Mummy’ will kick off a whole shared ‘Dark Universe’ because of course it will

If you’re looking forward to Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, fear not – there’ll be a whole lot more where that came from.

Universal Pictures has officially announced that its shared universe of classic Universal Monsters reboots shall henceforth be known as the “Dark Universe.” This summer’s The Mummy will be the first one out of the gate, followed by Bride of Frankenstein on February 14, 2019.

Bride of Frankenstein will be directed by Bill Condon, fresh off the enormous success of his live-action Beauty and the Beast remake. The lead actress has not yet been announced. Read more…
