These Australian versions of Pokémon are truly magnificent

Yes, Australians freaking love Pokémon too.

It’s no wonder they’ve gone mad for an Australian Pokédex, after pixel art animator Paul Robertson posted his creations on Twitter.

The monsters are local icons given the Pokémon makeover: Take “Pavlover,” a monster version of the pavlova dessert; “Uuluruu,” obviously named after the country’s most famous natural icon, Uluru; “Errwinn,” after Steve Irwin; or “Bludioath,” which just means, well, “bloody oath.”
