People are gluing tiny flowers to their faces for this new eyebrow trend

TwitterFacebook

Spring may not have sprung in parts of the U.S. yet, but it’s definitely showing up on people’s eyebrows.

We’ve seen halo brows. We’ve seen fishtail brows. We’ve seen barbed wire brows. At this point, you’d think brow trends could only go so far but Instagrammers are endlessly creative. This trend, at least, is pretty cute.

Lifestyle vlogger Taylor R. posted this look to Instagram and Twitter: bright green, bushy brows adorned with tiny (real!) flowers.

Google Home now lets you control bluetooth speakers with your voice

TwitterFacebook

Google Home speakers just got a lot more useful for listening to music.

The company has rolled out an update to the Google Home app that lets you connect your Assistant-enabled speaker to any bluetooth speaker.

To set it up, all you have to do is pair a bluetooth speaker to your Google Home in the Google Home app and music and podcasts will automatically play on the connected speaker rather than the speaker onboard the Google Home.

Or, you can take things a step further and connect multiple speakers so Google Assistant commands will play music in multiple rooms at once. (Of note: if you want to talk to Google Assistant you’ll still need to use the Google Home.) Read more…

‘The Crown’ finds a new Prince Philip in this ‘Outlander’ actor

TwitterFacebook

Out with the old and in with the new: a new Prince Philip just rolled into the royal court, and he’s a very familiar face to Outlander fans.

Tobias Menzies, the talented actor in the Starz show behind both Jack and Frank Randall, joins the Netflix cast of The Crown for its upcoming Season 3. Those familiar with Outlander know that Menzies can really ride the line between a perfect British gentleman, and an abhorrently vindictive human being — which is perfect for Philip’s characterization in this fictionalization of the royal family.

Seal no longer allowed to take cat naps in the park

TwitterFacebook

It’s tough work to find that perfect sunbathing spot by the water, but this Australian fur seal will have to look for another one.

Dubbed “Sealvester,” a neighbourhood seal has been blocked from its go-to nap spot in the eastern Sydney suburb of Rushcutters Bay.

Following advice from NSW National Parks, the barriers were set up by Sydney council workers to encourage the seal to move on.

“As Rushcutters Bay Park is frequented by residents, our parks staff have set up barriers as a precaution to protect the seal and the public,” a City of Sydney spokesperson told Mashable. Read more…

‘Rise’s companion web series continues to be a gem

TwitterFacebook

The Understudies, the companion web series to NBC’s Rise, is back with another episode shining a spotlight on the second-string actors in Stanton High School’s theater program.

In episode three, the understudies team up with Mr. Baer to practice for a chance to sing “The National Anthem” in front of the school, only to have their dreams dashed (again) by one of the school production’s leads, Simon (Ted Sutherland).

The Understudies continues to be a great and subtle gem that helps shed light and bring some sympathy to the characters on the show that aren’t usually front and center. There will be nine Understudies episodes in total during Rise‘s first season, with hopefully more to come after. Read more…

Will Ferrell is also deleting Facebook

TwitterFacebook

Very soon, you won’t find Will Ferrell on Facebook.

The comedian declared on Tuesday he would be deleting his account within 72 hours, following revelations of Cambridge Analytica’s misuse of personal data from the social network’s users.

SEE ALSO: Forget data. Free labor is Facebook’s lifeblood

In a Facebook post, Ferrell wrote that he “always had an aversion to social media,” but used it to promote projects from himself and colleagues. The data scandal, it would appear, was the final straw.

“I know I am not alone when I say that I was very disturbed to hear about Cambridge Analytica’s misuse of millions of Facebook users’ information in order to undermine our democracy and infringe on our citizens’ privacy,” he wrote.  Read more…

Dude escapes from jail Indiana Jones style by ducking under a closing door

TwitterFacebook

It’s something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie: guy is captured, guy gets out of his restraints, ducks under a closing door, and guy manages to escape.

Except, it’s from an actual video released by the Porter County Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Maldonado was arrested on Monday during a traffic stop and brought into the Porter County Jail. When the squad car pulled into the building’s garage, Maldonado managed to jump out and duck under the closing door.

With the closed door, officers couldn’t catch Maldonado. According to NWI Times, it took some time for another door to unlock, and by the time the officers were able to get outside Maldonado was already gone, despite some help from a K9 unit.  Read more…

Why electric auto’s newest player SF Motors hasn’t said much… until now.

TwitterFacebook

Just about everyone is buzzing about electric vehicles these days. Yet, despite charging stations popping up at work, and autonomous rideshare safety systems dominating the nightly news, most of us still drive (ourselves) to the gas station pump every week. The EV industry has been plagued with production and affordability issues that have prevented the widespread usage of these vehicles, making the buzz exactly that—all talk and no adoption. SF Motors wants to change that.

They’ve spent the past two years quietly developing the future of driving, and on Wednesday, March 28th, the company will finally give us a glimpse into its exciting work with a live streamed announcement.  Read more…

This Disney/Pixar movie bracket is starting so many internet fights

TwitterFacebook

There are only four days left until April, but we can still appreciate March Madness with the small amount of time left. Unless it’s a toss up between Disney and Pixar movies.

This Disney-Pixar bracket is tearing the internet apart — Twitter user @smjxmj’s take put Monsters, Inc. above all other Disney-Pixar movies and people were pretty mad.
