Drake just broke the record for the most Billboard Music Award wins in a single night


Hold on, Drake’s going home with 13 Billboard Music Awards tonight. He just broke Adele’s record for the most wins for an artist in a single year.

Plus, all that time at the podium gave him plenty of time to flirt with Vanessa Hudgens on live television during an acceptance speech, praise Nicki Minaj, and shout out his dad’s incredible purple suit.

Melania Trump completely disconnects from reality, praises ‘women’s empowerment’ in Saudi Arabia


Here’s the problem with tweeting things that don’t quite make sense when you’re a high profile person like the first lady of the United States: if you say something absurd, people will call you on it.

Such an opportunity presented itself on Sunday when Melania Trump posted the following message on social media during her visit to Saudi Arabia with President Trump: “Enjoyed talking to the incredible women working hard @GE_Saudi service center. Great strides being made towards the empowerment of women.”

Diddy unveils documentary trailer in tribute to Biggie Smalls


After an emotional tribute to friend and mentor Biggie Smalls, Sean “Diddy” Combs unveiled the trailer for his upcoming musical documentary Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story. The film tells the story of Combs’ record label, to which Biggie signed in 1992.

The film will release in conjunction with Bad Boy’s 20th anniversary and detail its origins from Harlem and Brooklyn in the early days. Smalls’ death in 1997 was a shocking and formative experience for Combs and his collaborators.

Celine Dion performed ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at the Billboard Awards and the internet cried an ocean of tears


Few songs stick to film’s as firmly as Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” to the 1997 Academy Award-winning Titanic.

In honor of the film’s 20th anniversary, Dion took the stage at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards Sunday night in Las Vegas to belt out her iconic hit.

After an introduction from Lea Michele, Dion appeared inside a massive floor-to-ceiling chandelier in a bright white dress while clips of Titanic played on the screen.

Miley Cyrus’ Billboard performance made everyone with the last name Cyrus cry


Miley Cyrus performed her new single “Malibu” on television for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. 

Cyrus was introduced by introduced by sister Noah Cyrus and dad Billy Ray Cyrus (professionally just known as Cyrus now). Noah, who identified Miley as her favorite singer, introduced her big sis on stage, “for the first time in years with pants on.”

Beyoncé’s celeb-packed party gets twins ready for royalty


Previously on the ongoing royal saga of Beyoncé’s reign over the music world, we got to see the singer’s latest look as she prepared to bring twins into the world. 

On Sunday, Beyoncé posted a new set of amazing images from her celebrity-packed “Carter Push Party,” which appeared to have an African theme, on Instagram.

Twitter has all the answers for Trump’s ‘orb of doom’ photo


“By touching this glowing orb, you hereby swear your eternal allegiance to the international Legion of Doom, got it?” 

That’s just one of the many theories that began swirling around social media on Sunday when Donald Trump appeared in photos clutching a mysterious, illuminated globe in a darkened room alongside Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi.

Of course, the explanation behind the seemingly odd photo is far less nefarious: The orb is actually an installation at the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to The Washington Post.  Read more…

Bride bucks bridal shower norms for a party with her male friends


As one of four women in a class of 60, Brazilian computer engineering student Rebeca Brantes didn’t know how to have the bridal shower she dreamed of because her friends were mostly men. 

But since gendering a simple wedding party tradition is a bit silly anyways, Brantes decided to invite her pals along to be bridesmales and the resulting photographs are hilarious and stunning.

“I came up with the idea one week before the wedding,” Brantes told Bored Panda. “I was looking into some “making of” pictures of brides with their gang of girls, all in robes, laughing, drinking champagne and all, and I got a bit sad because I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that.” Read more…
