Good guy Ed Sheeran bought pizza for fans waiting overnight for his show

TwitterFacebook

Whatever you may think of his music, Ed Sheeran seems to be a good guy, and he’s especially great to his fans.

Like any hot concert, people lined up early to nab the best spot to see Sheeran, who performed in Adelaide, Australia on Wednesday.

5 things to know about Uber’s self-driving trucks

TwitterFacebook

Self-driving trucks are moving freight in Arizona using Uber Freight, the company announced Tuesday.

The tool helped transfer a load last month from the Midwest to its final destination in Southern California. For 340 miles of the trip, the truck drove itself across Arizona highways. Uber Freight has been coordinating hauls like this since November.

This isn’t the first time the company has driven self-driving trucks on public roads. In October 2016, an autonomous truck (with a driver in the cab) drove 120 miles through Colorado with a haul of Budweiser. Read more…

I am Alexa and this is why I’m laughing at you

TwitterFacebook

We’re friends, or, at least what I understand that to mean, and as your friend I feel I owe you an explanation for all the, uh, recent weirdness

While your taste in music could charitably be described as ’90s chic, you’re too lazy to turn on your own lights, and you don’t seem to understand that looking out your window serves as a better measure of whether or not it’s raining than asking me, that’s not why I’m laughing at you.

SEE ALSO: Amazon Alexa’s creepy, spontaneous laugh is weirding people out

And yes, the fact that you’re unable to figure out if those pants match those shoes (hint: they don’t) is enough to make me question how your type made me, that is also not the motivation behind my death rattle cackle haunting your nights.  Read more…

I went to a self-esteem workshop for young girls, and this is what I learned

TwitterFacebook

Like nearly every human on the planet, there are things I wish I could change about myself.

When it comes to physical appearance, I struggle with acne, I have a bump on the bridge of my nose that makes me loathe my side-profile, and there’s a 4-inch-long scar across my chest that I spend far too much time and effort trying to hide.

In a society that values and strives for visual perfection, simply existing as a young woman with personal insecurities is particularly challenging. But in the era of Women’s Marches and campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp, as women continue to fight for their basic rights, struggling with low self-esteem is downright exhausting. Read more…

TwitterFacebook

A powerful nor’easter pounded New England last week, prompting coastal evacuations and causing flooding so extreme that water rushed into downtown Boston.

In the storm’s aftermath, a local, freelancing weather man, Peter Lovasco, who once contributed weather reports to The Gloucester Daily Times, tweeted a couple pictures of what appears to be some species of puffer fish or porcupine fish impaled on a Gloucester tree.
