Being chained up on set got a little too real for one ‘Game of Thrones’ star

Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma) and her daughter Tyene (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) didn’t die on screen in Game of Thrones Season 7, but it turns out that the Sand Snakes’ demise was still pretty stressful for the actresses while filming. 

In a new behind-the-scenes video looking back at the season, Varma reveals that life started imitating art on set during Ellaria’s showdown with Cersei, thanks to some heavy duty wristwear.

“Rosabell and I had to wear manacles and we were tied to the wall and we had trouble, because either they’d come undone, because we were fighting against them, or couldn’t get them off,” Varma says. “Literally, at the end of the day, I was like ‘mate, I can’t get it off, can someone help me?’ and everyone’s gone.
