‘Game of Thrones’ must deliver an Arya vs. Cersei showdown, thanks

TwitterFacebook

Ever since Arya Stark made her kill list and topped it off with Cersei Lannister’s name, theirs is the face-off I’ve been waiting for. The two haven’t shared a scene since early Season 1 but their stories have intertwined in grievous ways.

Arya has managed to knock off a few names off her list, including Walder Frey and Meryn Trant, but Cersei remains the one big profile name on it.

SEE ALSO: How’s Arya doing on her kill list ahead of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8?

Game of Thrones Season 8 will bring about lots of reunions, some emotional and some awkward. The one we deserve the most is Arya vs. Cersei, especially if it means the former will kill the latter. Read more…

Lyft pulled electric bikes off the streets in New York, San Francisco, and D.C.

TwitterFacebook

Lyft’s bikeshare business is having a rough Sunday.

Almost identical blog posts from Citi Bike, Ford GoBike, and Capital Bikeshare — all of which are Lyft-owned businesses — confirm that their “pedal-assist” electric bikes have been temporarily taken out of service. That means customers in New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. will have to make do with pedal bikes for now.

The issue stems from some kind of issue with the brakes on those pedal-assist bikes. “We recently received a small number of reports from riders who experienced stronger than expected braking force on the front wheel,” each of the posts notes.  Read more…

Juul sets up a web portal to help narc on businesses that enable vaping teens

TwitterFacebook

Juul doesn’t want teens hitting its vapes. The company promises.

Facing a rising tide of criticism for underage use of its e-cigarettes, vape manufacturer Juul is taking a new approach aimed at cracking down on teen use. Specifically, the company launched an online tool designed to track how specific vapes find their way into the hands of minors.

The idea, as explained by Juul, seems pretty straightforward. If a parent or teacher confiscates one of the company’s e-cigarettes from a minor, the authority figure should head on over to a new web portal and enter the device’s serial number along with a few additional details. This will, at least in theory, allow the company to figure out how the youths are getting their tiny hands on its nicotine delivery devices.  Read more…

Facebook investors desperate to boot Mark Zuckerberg from chairmanship

TwitterFacebook

The call to oust Mark Zuckerberg is coming from inside the house.

A group of investors have teamed up in an effort to replace the Facebook CEO and board chairman with an independent voice. The plan, put forth in an April 12 SEC filing, doesn’t mince words in its critique of the 34-year-old fan of smoked meats.

“[Zuckerberg’s] dual-class shareholdings give him approximately 60% of Facebook’s voting shares, leaving the board, even with a lead independent director, with only a limited ability to check Mr. Zuckerberg’s power,” reads the statement supporting the proposal. “We believe this weakens Facebook’s governance and oversight of management.” Read more…
